Who We Are
We are a vibrant group of Catholic women ages 14+ and part of a larger membership of over four million Catholic women worldwide. Our DCCW is an umbrella organization affiliated with the National Council of Catholic Women (NCCW) that encompasses all Catholic women of the diocese: Parish Councils of Catholic Women, altar and rosary societies and affiliated women’s groups.The NCCW was founded in 1920 by the U.S. Catholic bishops to provide all Catholic women a common voice and an instrument of unified action https://www.nccw.org. With its diocesan councils, the National Council is a member of the World Union of Catholic Women's Organizations (WUCWO). The Holy See affirms WUCCWO as the "voice of women in the Church and as the voice of Church."
